Cast Net How To Video
May 4, 2009 Tips
Casts nets should be a standard in your surf fishing gear bag. If you know how to throw a cast net, you can have a steady supply of fresh bait . Whether you are trying to throw a 5 foot radius cast net or a 8 foot net, you are going to need quite a bit a practice.
The first job is to learn how to prepare the net. Then you must learn how to load the net. Now that the net is loaded you must prepare for the throw. I am not trying to make it sound too difficult, I am just trying to be realistic. The following video from Calusa Cast Nets will get you started off on the right foot. Watch this how to video several times and then drag your laptop and cast net out in the yard for a training session. I guarantee that this video will have you throwing perfect circles with your cast net.

That’s a pretty good technique, but I do it a bit differently. Throwing a cast new is a lot harder than it looks, and when you chuck it out there only to get tangled in the marsh, it’s easy to give up quickly.
Wish I had youtube when I was learning.
